As new COVID-19 and death cases escalated in the state, Chief Minister N Biren Singh convened an emergency meeting attended by his cabinet colleagues, opposition MLAs, health department’s officials, and civil society representatives organizations, at Durbar Hall of Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Imphal.
The meeting ruled-out the lockdown reimplementation to curb the alarming rise of confirmed cases and death toll. All the attendees took a pledge to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviors.
Biren, in a Facebook post, said the meeting had resolved the State Government will continue to take responsibility for accommodation and to provide all necessary equipment for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
“The Hon’ble MLAs, CSOs, local clubs & associations, and volunteers are requested to provide support and suggestions to the government departments in imparting awareness to the masses on strict implementation of SOPs and COVID-19 appropriate behaviors,” the chief minister continued in his Twitter handle and Facebook account.
