CM N Biren Singh inaugurates Flood Light system at Khuman Lampak

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today inaugurated the long-awaited floodlight system at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said that it is indeed a historical and emotional moment for the people of the State. The Chief Minister thanked the Sports Minister Letpao Haokip, officials of YAS, officials of PHILIPS Company for early completion of the floodlight system before the stipulated time. He informed the gathering that the construction of astroturf football ground at Langjing Achouba, Imphal West will be completed soon. He further maintained that another three more artificial football turf with flood lighting system will be constructed in the state soon. He maintained that sports are the only way to keep our youths away from drug addiction in the State.

On the occasion, a thrilling exhibition match was played between Chief Minister XI and Chief Secretary XI. The Chief Minister XI team was led by Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh while the Chief Secretary XI was led by Chief Secretary Dr. J. Suresh Babu. Ministers, MLAs, top civil and police participated in the exhibition match. The match ended with one goal each to both the teams. Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh and IAS Shri L. Nandakumar scored the goals for Chief Minister XI and Chief Secretary XI respectively.

Shri N. Biren Singh also inaugurated the RK Jaichandra Singh Manipur Youth League 2020, first of its kind in the entire NorthEast India. The opening match of the League was played between Classic Football Academy and HIYAI Football Academy. Altogether 11 teams are participating in the League.

Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Shri Y. Khemchand, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, top civil and police officers and others were present during the function.
